Suncatcher - 'Lampades'
Details
These suncatchers feature one large glass suncatcher globe in a shade of orange as well as varying shades of glass beads in yellow, orange, and brown. The inspiration of these colors comes from the chthonic nymphs of Greek myth, the Lampades, associated with the goddess Hekate. Three holographic stars are interspersed throughout the length and bells are hung in sets of three, a nod to Hekate's triple aspect.
It is all held together with bronze metal fixtures and finished with bells. The clanging of bronze and bells was believed to ward of evil spirits.
This listing is for ONE suncatcher, you will need to select your color preference while adding to cart.
Each suncatcher measures in at:
- 11 inches long from clip to the bottom of the globe
- Globe is approximately 1.5 inches across
It features a clip at the top for easy securing to your place of choosing.
As a reminder, I create everything entirely by hand. From the designing process, to twisting the metal into its final hooped shapes.
Every piece is made with an incredible amount of intention and care.
